Anyong haseyo
Day two, Hamilton Hotel, Seoul
8.00 AM (Seoul, GMT+9)
Woke up quite late, me
and Marvin directly headed to Hotel's cafetaria
having breakfast there. Then not too long after that Marie just came in and we
started the trip again. So, where were us going? First, we visited Gyaeongbokgung,
a palace where king (or emperor, whatever) lived. Outside the
palace, I saw two statue. The gold one and silver one. The silver one is a
statue of local famous general, and the gold one represent Korean Emperor who
made Hangul.
Such a great morning, really!
Before we went to main palace,
we walked around National Folklore Museum first, where a lot
of Korean Diorama, Governor uniforms, Emperor Uniforms, and
etcetera. But we did not take much time there taking pictures, so we just
straight walked down to the main palace, cool one though knowing the Emperor
lived in such a comfy place. FYI : visually, the palace
looks great combined with buildings circled and paramount around the
city, such a view.
We took pictures. Ah, you should
see me acrobating in the middle of the crowd there. But unfortunately, I can
not post any pictures here, maybe in next post. But that is not a biggie anyway,
eh?
The palace was great,
next destination : Samsung d'light. Samsung delight is a hot
spot where Samsung's latest technology introduced. Sophisticated! There
we were introduced by a guide with The technology, I can highlight : The
light drum, Wireless charger, Smart TV, Smart refrigerator, and Augmented
reality screen. After having fun we took some pictures, again. Then we went
back to the van and I was quite surprised looking some locals do protest
demonstration to Samsung for letting their workers work way too hard causing
some death victims (Marie told me). Speechless, it's quite an
irony.
But keep it fun!
After that we had lunch
with a table full of food, that one is one of Korean tradition. Something I
just knew is every time we start eating there is always a plate of kimchi served.
Go wikikorea that one! There we ate much. No, it's me especially.
haha. After that we went to N Seoul Tower.
N Seoul Tower is the highest tower
in South Korea. We should walk to the top and kind of tiring my leg, really. But
before I tell further about it, we went to a place nearby. It was Teddy Bear
Museum. There I saw historical dioramas with teddy bear figuring. One cool
thing is the dioramas could censor presence of the visitor, so I can play it
all along by running to each set. It was fun, really. I took picture with giant
teddy bear wearing PSY costume and do Gangnam Style pose. That was
literally fun!
Got
no bye-bye and bear hug, we took lift that picked us up to the
top of the N Seoul Tower, Looking around from the top what Seoul city
looked like. Dang, that was beautiful, I paid about 500 won to see view
from the binocular. One word : Worth. There I met with some souvenir stores
selling post cards, cosmetics, and pictures. After buying some souvenirs for
relatives, we went down and watched a traditional performance, about 15 minutes
we left because we should go to another destination. We didn’t walk like the
way we went up to the top, we used cable car. I sighed with glad
feeling. Haha.
Back to the van, we headed to cosmetic shop,
I did not mean to pay any attention there, but after seeing the impact of
the powder (I forgot the brand name) to my skin. I got white skin, as white as
Korean people. God! For a minute there, there was something in my mind
that made me think I should buy one. But my sanity remained. My bucks was
running out, man!
Escaped
from the tempting cosmetic shop, we went to market at Myong dong. That
was the last destination for the day, so we should waste our money there buying
souvenirs, clothings and cosmetics. After killing time with shopping thingy.
We ate something(again, I forget the name) like chopped chiken, mixed with
vegetable, and olive oil in one big pan. Yum! I ate again, it was so
tasty and spicy, I can tell you. I was full! After that the leftover in the pan
was mixed with rice, and with the
restaurant’s magic, voala a pan full of spicy and delightful fried rice
came in handy challenge you in second round!
Telling
you the taste of the food makes me hungry, Okay back on. After that we
go to a building where Nanta Show held. Nanta Show mainly is a
percussion performance combined with funny story in it. It tells about
restaurant cookers who face a new rookie cooker, there come some conflicts, and
in the end they work together. Good one! We enjoyed the show so much, it
took about 2 hours long, then after that, about 10 p.m we went back to Hamilton
Hotel.
The
story of the second day did not end here yet, I personally will tell you a few
of night walking experience around Hamilton hotel. After took a bath, we
walked out the hotel. The Night-life there was so alive. There were
pubs, bars, prostitutes, clubs, even transgender club. We just walked on, some
foreigner tourists too. The Bronx people there reminded me of GTA : San
Andreas plot. Holding beers around and talked loud. Reporting what I caught,
some prostitutes were young beautiful, some were mature, some were sleepy. Lol.
But the atmosphere there ensured me night-life in there is one-of
–a-kind experience I will never forget.
Took
a walk around Hamilton hotel made us sleepy, after that we hit the bed
and had a good night.
